Wild Card Camaro's
Yes, I know the Wild Card Camaro's are
not GMMG's but they are still cool. Neither are the 5th Gen. COPO Camaro's, Wild Cars Camaro's & TA's, Clones-Tribute-Fakes, Garages, License
Plates but this is all interesting.
Information on this page has ben provided by others.
I don't claim to know about many of these
cars. If you have info to add or corrections,
please let me know. Jim
Who built this car? GMMG or someone
else?

September
26, 2010 update from Anthoiny............. Hello
Jim, I apologize for my long absense. I was just googling Callaway Camaros, and I came across the page
again. I really enjoy the site, and I was looking at all of the rare Camaros you have on there. I did see a small discrepancy in the addition from Brandon though. He is correct in many aspects,
and probably knows more about the cars than anybody I have spoken with about them. He is however, mistaken
on a few accounts: The years that I mentioned about the cars is actually the production year of the Camaro,
and not the year the work was done by Callaway as Brandon suggested. Some of those were built as new cars, and
some were older cars converted after the model year of the car (1994 model year cars were converted in 1996- I included them
all). 2 1993 cars were built as prototypes in 1993. The silver Aerobody picture car that
arrived in October 1993, and the 1993 Pace Car engine development car that arrived in June 1993. Two more 1993 cars
were built in February and March of 1994, however, Callaway was trying to introduce the cars as new for the 1994 model
year. It would have been difficult to showcase a "New" model at the 1994 Auto Show, and then publicise 1993
cars running around.
In August of 1994, Callaway built one more 93 Camaro, and in June 95, another one was
built. It had about 14,000 miles at the time. In March of 97, the last 1993 Callaway Camaro was
built. It had 46,000 miles at the time of delivery. There was 1 1997 Callaway Camaro built.
It was an AeroBody Only car. Callaway were focusing on the new LS series of engines and phasing out the LT based
SuperNatural engine packages. (See correction below) The Aerobody-only cars that were not built by Callaway are not tracked by Callaway, as Brandon correctly mentions.
The difficult part to understand is that Callaway tracked every car they worked on, and some had neither the engine, NOR the
body! They were later upgraded with either bodies, engines, or both. My black Aerobody-Only 1995 is
a very significant car, because it was the only non-supernatural 383 engined car to ever get the C8 badge- which was only
applied to cars with the body AND engine. It instead had a supercharger, and Callaway figured that the increased power
was enough to earn it a badge. Callaway built and tracked only 4 Aerobody-only cars- 2 94s, my 95, and the
only 97 built. I hope this helps, although I realize that it is too confusing to post on the site.
Instead, I was just writing to inform you, in case you would like to doccument the Callaway C8 and Camaro details for
your site. Best regards, Anthony

Hello Jim, Callaway built AeroBody only cars, SuperNatural 400 engine only cars,
and C8s, which were Camaros that had both the CamAeroBody and the Supernatural 383ci 404hp LT1. I currently
have 5 C8s, and 2 stock bodied SuperNatural 400 Camaros. 1994-1996 Callaway Camaro and C8 production: 1994 C8

LT1, CamAeroBody, Brembo F40 Brakes, BridgeStone Callaway Runflat wheels and tires, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and
full exhaust, Callaway Suspension, Callaway prototype 001 Valve Covers, Rosewood interior accents, and Callaway 6 Speed shift
knob. The Aqua/Teal 1994 AeroBody Callaway C8 is the second of 2 94 convertibles built. It is
the only C8 built in this color It has the SuperNatural 450hp 383ci stroked LT1, CamAeroBody, Brembo F40 Brakes, OZ Monte
Carlo 17x9.5 wheels, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and full exhaust, Callaway Suspension, Callaway Valve Covers, Callaway
Roll Bar, and Callaway Full Leather interior. The Silver 1995 AeroBody Callaway C8 is one of 4 C8 1995
coupes. It was originally black, and is the only black 1995 C8 It has the SuperNatural 450hp 383ci stroked LT1,
CamAeroBody, Brembo F40 Brakes, OZ Monte Carlo 17x9.5 wheels, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and full exhaust, Callaway

Callaway Runflat 17x9.5 wheels and tires, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and full exhaust, Callaway Suspension, Callaway

was installed later. It was also the only PoloGreen C8 (it is being repainted in its original color currently) It
has the SuperNatural 450hp 383ci stroked LT1, CamAeroBody, BridgeStone Callaway Runflat 17x9.5 wheels and tires, Stainless
1 3/4" headers and full exhaust, Callaway Suspension, Callaway Valve Covers, and Callaway Roll Bar. The PoloGreen 1995 Convertible Stock Bodied Camaro is one of 2 stock body Callaways verts built. It has the
SuperNatural 425hp 383ci stroked LT1, CamAeroBody, OZ Monte Carlo 17x9.5 wheels, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and full
exhaust, Callaway Suspension, Callaway 6 Speed
Shift Knob, and Corvette Brakes The PoloGreen 1996 Coupe Stock Bodied Camaro is one
of 5 stock body Callaways coupes built. It has the SuperNatural 450hp 383ci stroked LT1, CamAeroBody,
OZ Monte Carlo 17x9.5 wheels, Stainless 1 3/4" headers and full exhaust, and Callaway Suspension. It is the only Automatic Transmission 1996 Callaway Camaro built. I have very nice pictures of most of the cars if you would more of them. I also hope to own a GMMG car in the
future, as I think they were marketed and featured much more than the Callaways were. Best regards,
Anthony Kalil
from Brandon .........-
August 11, 2010 Two things he didn't mention are...
1) those years correspond to the year the work was done by Callaway,
and not the model year of the cars. There were several 93 Camaros modified. He also didn't mention that there were a few Commemorative
Edition C8s created around 2001 or 2002.
2) The aerobody-only cars weren't tracked by Callaway unless they did
the installation. You could buy the aerobody and have it applied to ANY Camaro and Callaway would have no record of it unless
you knew the owner's name perhaps. As rare as these are, I would suspect there are as few as 10 aerobody only cars. My favorite
Callaway aerobodied car is attached and is an example of that. It's a '96, Callaway has no record of it, and I was dying to
buy it back in 2006 but had no job or money (year I graduated college).

October 5, 2011 ....from Danial.....thanks *Note: I've
copied a gentleman named Brandon Brown who I believe was also involved in the correspondence to which I'm referring as "Brangeta", as he might be interested as well.
Dear Mr.Smith, I've enjoyed your website
and like to browse it from time to time. It's nice to see a shared appreciation of American Muscle Cars! However,
I did notice some information I believe is wrong. On your "Wild Card Camaro's" page there is a correspondence
between you and a Mr. Anthony Kalil. In this correspondence Anthony makes the claim that only one 1997 Callaway
Super Natural Camaro was built, and that it was an Aero Body only build. I know for a fact that I have a 1997 Callaway
Super Natural Camaro shipped to Callaway brand new for the SuperNatural 400 engine-only build. I have the documentation
for this and thought you and Mr. Kalil, being car guys/collectors might be interested to know. From what Mr. Kalil
says, my car is a 1 of 1, and it wouldn't be too difficult to have Callaway install the aero body package, which
would apparently make it the only C8 of 1997. It isn't in mint condition, but I don't think it would take much to
get it close as you can see from the photos. Anyway, I just thought you guys might be interested and I would appreciate
it if you passed my information on to Mr. Kalil. If either of you are interested in buying it, or know anyone that
is, please let me know. Thanks for keeping up a very cool website and enjoy the photos!
Sincerely, Daniel
Kirksey
P.S. The photos are packaged in one PDF file, which seems to be the easiest way to share multiple
photos with a manageable file size. Also feel free to use the photos for whatever you'd like -- I can send original
jpegs if necessary.
