Sam From Ohio added photos to the album: Collector Edition Formula

This is the “one of none” Collector Edition Formula. It was built by GMMG and was commissioned by members of the F-body team at GM. This prototype was built to be a proposal to GM to build these as a limited production vehicle. Unfortunately, midway through this car’s build, the Firebird cancelation was announced and the idea of producing a Collector Edition Formula was no longer. The car started life as a black 1998 v6 hardtop, but GMMG took it down to a bare shell and rebuilt it using all donor parts from a v8 F-body and a Ls6 engine making 400hp. Most of the suspension is from 1le F-bodies, and the brakes are from a c5 z06. The wheels are 4 rear c5 18” magnesium wheels. After the car was completed, GMMG took out the Ls6 and installed a 455ci C5R motor which is still in the car today. The cage, wheels, exhaust, everything that you see, is exactly as it was when GMMG sold the car. This car is labeled “RA6 PR-1” meaning Ram Air 6, prototype 1. Above the standard Collector Edition badges are Ram Air 6 badges.
Included are some pictures with my Collector Edition and another one with pace car graphics. This formula was a bucket list car for me to see, and I honestly didn’t think I would ever see it. What an amazing opportunity, thanks to the guys at Hawks Motorsports / Hawks Third Generation, LLC for bringing it out to the GMMG meet.
