PRCV - 'Looking for the real story'

Post by daytonajim »

The Registry continues to look for the accurate story on PRCV.

PRCV is in the Wildcard section because it was not an approved DH from 2008 till 2017. It was never part of the 30 + prototypes.

All the documentation indicates PRCV is approved, Valatie got three checks & was paid & Valarie signed off on PRCV October 2017
.
I get emails, texts & calls BUT I have never seen any written supporting documentation that says PRCV is not an authorized DH. since 2017.
.
PRCV has been in the GMMG 'Wildcard' page
.
The first time I saw the documentation was January 19, 2018, when I brought a prospective buyer to look at the car. That was the first time I saw the checks & Authenticity Certificate signed by Valarie.

KDAWGFILMZ also shot videos of the collection including PRCV. Vince & I actually drove the car for the videos.

Videos are on You Tube -

.
Documents I have seen with the owner & have a copy in the GMMG Registry Archives
.
Bill of sale dated June 14, 2004. (Mike Carnahan & Jim Grdina)
.
Original car was a 35th Anniversary Convert sold from Berger Chev.
.
Letter explaining how PRCV came to be
.
PRCV has been around a long time.
.
I have seen three checks made out to Valarie
.
Certificate of Authenticity - Genuine Dick Harrell Supercar signed by Valarie Harrell October 4, 2017
.
, Matt Avery & Jim Smith have seen ALL the documentation, the GMMG Registry has a copy of documentation for safe keeping.

Some existing Dick Harrell owners have been upset with me & in general with PRCV.

DH owners please look at this a little different.....

All the buzz & speculation creates more interest in your DH's

PRCV Prototype Convert is the only one ever built - no more DH's. It was a test/porotype that was built to see what a DH Convert might look like.

This adds value & rarity to the DH's you own.

This information is shared with Jim Grdina's permission March 17, 2021. We will be publishing Jim's cover letter when we receive it.

There has been a lot of controversy & wrong information about PRCV over the years.

Myth's, speculation, mis-information & untruths will come out as I work this up. Many rumors were started about PRCV because NO ONE really knew. Some thought they knew but in many cases they were wrong.

We continue to seek the real story backed up with documentation & photos. Ongoing work in progress.

The only person that has all the correct information that I see is Jim Grdina. He' has the documentation & now Matt & I know the whole story. Stay tuned.... This journey will be interesting. I am not seeing any red flags with the certificate.

If anyone would like to challenge this information bring it on & bring your 'A' Game. You will need written documentation to support your challenge or else we will not accept it & consider it as speculation. Everything needs to be in writing & I will share it with Jim Grdina & Matt Avery. We will reply.

Matt Avery & I spent a couple of hours with Jim Grdina (March 17, 2021) going over all the paperwork & files on the car. We learned so much.

Thank you Jim for sharing with Matt & me & allowing me to post this.

A few facts to get started.........

Highest HP GMMG built - 750HP

Most expensive GMMG - over $163K

Only Dick Harrell Convert - a prototype

Jim has all the documentation & paperwork. Matt & I have seen it all. Info from Day 1 - emails, cancelled checks, notes, receipts , photos & a whole lot more.

Valarie Harrell has certified PRCV. We have seen the signed documents

Matt Avery & Jim Smith from the GMMG Registry certify PRCV as the only Dick Harrell Porotype Convert. One of one.

Let's get started....

Jim has shared some information with Matt & me & we have his permission to publish seeking the 'real' story now in 2021. If I get something wrong Jim & I will visit & talk so I get things correct.

Matt Avery & I have seen the Title I it was from Berger Chev. with Berger staff signature. I have a copy of the title.

Signed Bill of Sale - Note the date is June 14, 2004. It's black & white if you read it....'GMMG & Dick Harrell Enterprises'. Many think this was some kind of back-door deal. Dated June 14, 2004.

It took from 2004 until 2010 (6 years) for the car to be completed. In the meantime Jim would send checks as needed for the build (we've seen them) Why so long? Gotta ask Matt Murphy & Mike Carnahan. Look at the information & facts about the build.

Jim also had a custom set of 3 piece 'one-off' wheels made. The cancelled check we've seen is in the $7,500 range.

Reproduction of GM Invoice - MSRP was $34,450. That equates into almost $129k in upgrades. OMG!

THE BUILD

Jim bought the car around 2004 & got the car many year later.

I was built to Jim's specs including the $7,500 custom 3 part wheels.

Jim G was out in front of the curve with the red ring around the wheel.

I will be up to the owner to finish up the story, the history & facts about PRCV.

PRCV - 'Seeking the real story' - Documentation

Post by daytonajim »

Read on for the real story ........................... One of One

I understand why a number of DH owners are upset. All of the sudden PRCV is authorized.

I own DH's & I wish PRCV was not around BUT it is - Yes a surprise to everyone including me.

The information is here - take the time to read it & you will have the answers & 'the real story'.

The GMMG Registry Archives have copies of many PRCV documents & they are in safe keeping.

Some are confidential & will not be shared but we have copies.

PRCV was purchased as a 35th Anniversary Convert in 2004 & was finally completed by Mike Carhanan after GMMG closes in 2010 (6 years).

It took almost 13 years for the build & all the documents to be completed. Jim has copies of all the checks he sent Mike during that time & as the build progressed. I have seen the checks.

Copy of GM Window Sticker $34,450.00

Title from Berger Chev with Berger staff signatures dated July 15, 2005

Bill of sale signed by Mike Carnahan & Jim Grdina dates June 14, 2004

PRCV Verification Letter signed by Mike Carnahan dated October 18, 2012

Certificate of Authenticity signed by Valeri Harrell October 4, 2017

Berger DH Supercar Window Sticker

GMMG Build Window Sticker - Cost $163,676

Highest horsepower GMMG built @ 750HP

Most expensive GMMG built @ $163,676

Is PRCV is real? Yes, it has been around since 2008 & is listed as a Wildcard in the Registry.

Originally PRCV was not authorized (2008-2017).

Val's signed certificate answers the question. Berger's name is on the title, Valarie signed the Certificate of Authenticity October 4, 2017 & the Registry has copies of the documents in safe keeping. PRCV is authorized as of this date.

This ends any more discussions & all speculation, rumors & misinformation about DH-PRCV. Matt Avery has also seen all the documentation.

For more information search the GMMG Forum & links for PRCV.

PRCV - 'Seeking the real story'

Post by daytonajim »

Update November 26, 2022 - work in progress & as I put this together - check back
.
The GMMG Registry attempts to document anything with a GMMG Brass Door Tag. We go with t3h information & supporting documentation we have at the time. As new information surfaces, we make changes & updates.
.
The car that has always taken up the most time & is the most controversial is PRCV.
.
The Registry continues to attempt to get to the bottom of this story & I have heard from Dale Plude a number of times, again.
.
DOCUMENTATION
.
The third time I saw the documentation including three checks & Certificate of Authenticity was spring 2021 when Matt Avery visited to gather information for his new Camaro Book.
.
Everything we saw says PRCV is authorized & all the documentation supports this. PRCV was authorized by Valarie Oct. 4, 2017 & I have a copy of the certificate.
.
PRCV is not signed under the hood like the 30 (plus 3 protypes). They all have matching signature, same signature in the same location.
PRCV does not have the signatures. Why? One answer might be because it was not completed when the other cars were signed?

PRCV - 'The rest of the story'

Post by daytonajim »

December 4, 2022

After over 12 plus years of research the rest of the story is coming soon.

I am waiting for the approval from the original owner to post the documents.

Is PRCV is real? Yes, it has been around since 2008 & is listed as a Wildcard in the Registry.

Originally PRCV was not authorized (2008-2017).

Val's signed certificate answers the question.............

Valarie signed the Certificate of Authenticity October 4, 2017 & the Registry has copies of the documents in safe keeping.

PRCV was authorized as of this date. Berger's name is on the title & the owner has all the supporting documentation.

This ends any more discussions & all speculation, rumors & misinformation about DH-PRCV. Matt Avery has also seen all the documentation.

The history & story will follow. Stay tuned. Jim

PRCV - 'Looking for the real story'

Post by daytonajim »

January 4, 2024:

.....from current owner - Mike G:

Hey Matt-

Hope you are enjoying the Kissimmee auction! (Jim Smith - Not able to get it in AZ. Please keep me in the loop)

Attached are 4 documents that show some of the history of how the PRCV came about and why I had the vision to return it to its intended build thoughts. I will describe each of them below as a follow up to our meeting a couple weeks ago to do a feature on the PRCV car.

(Jim Smith - This info is priceless & so important for the history of PRCV)

Document 1
Of importance: Notice the date of the email March 7th 2004. It is an email from Matt Murphy to Valerie and several others cc'd with an update on the "final look" It is important to note that date in showing the car was "almost done" to show the timeline that the PRCV was in play during that timeline and not some afterthought as some claim. It is also interesting that Matt says they are working on Torque Thrust wheels???... Not sure what happened there :)

Document 2
This documented email is important because it shows the very first DH was delivered on September 30th and it was #5 which was built before PR1 was! It is also important because you will see 4 days later on October 4th an email from Mike Carnahan or GMMGINC3@aol.com was sent to Jim Grdina forwarding the same email that was sent to chriastensenzl1 days before and his subject line was:: Imagine this with no ROOF!

Document 3
This is the email to Jim Grdina showing the completed build pics of #5 and the vision of what the PRCV would be with no roof! This was a few days after document 3 email

Document 4
This was a document sent to Jim Grdina shortly after the last email. This is cool if you read it all but of particular interest it shows that really the original idea of a 454 being put in these cars came form Carnahan and Grdina which they then put in 3 other cars after i believe. You can also see that 2/3rds down the page it references using Fikse wheels and then Carnahan included the following pictures showing some build pics of the red #5 and the bad ass Fikse wheels of course! These were the pictures that I referenced in our interview as being motivation to return the car to its original build vision.

Hope this is helpful to what you are putting together.
