Tired of going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving? I've attended this event several times in years past and it just keeps getting Bigger and Bigger. And Yes, every Bistro in town serves turkey with all the trimmings...

Have fun Craig, wish I were going. It's a great event-HUGE! If you don't mind, would you keep an eye out for some 15x6 Chevy Rally rims coded DF (68 Camaro) Pre- Mar 8, 68 would be even better, but Ill settle for just getting DF. I can paypal you money for any you find. Thanks, Bob
Codes are found near the valve stems and stamped into the rim. Any date code is ok. Would prefer pre -March 8 1968. That would show as:
K19 8 3 (Valvestem) 8 DF
K- Kelsey Hayes
1= Romulus Michigan plant
9= Type Chevy Rally (Stamped on center cap nub with GM)
8= Year of production
3= Month of production
Valvestem
8= Day of the Month
DF= application (68 Camaro 15x 6, 4 1/16 backspace)

Thanks Craig, I bet that Z/28-RS was a great car. FYI- The DF wheels weren't exclusive to the Z/28. Option P28 for $90 + $4 dealer fee, got you "Special Wheels" which were... you guessed it- E70-15 Wide Tread GT RWL Goodyears mounted on 15x6 DF rims. So, although rare, with that option those wheels were available on any model, but, since they were the top of the line option, they were the only tire/rim combo available for the Z/28.

Bob, was that P28 option 'Dealer Only'? I don't see it in the latest edition of the White Book which covers 1967 - 2011 so I don't think it was a factory RPO. Correct me if I'am wrong please.

Totally unlikely my car had it, but a plausible option. Since I think the red lines are too much for the red car, even if it was a dealer only option I'm gonna go with it.
Documented as a change available after 3 Jan 68 in the original Factory Assembly Manuals.

I have a reprint of the original assembly manual but can't find it so a question Bob:
1. What tire is listed on your glove box tire pressure sticker?

I think you're missing the point here Craig. It doesn't mattter what the original sticker said, it's going to say "AG p/n 3934882 E70x15 4 ply" Not F70x 14. The car didn't have N34 on it either(Wood steering wheel), but it does now. Since it, P28, was a viable option that year(CRG/McNeish& Co, would never publish it if it wasn't well documented) I'm going to replace my XG 14" rims with the DF 15" ones.

I totally understand Bob and the hunt for a set of DF wheels is on. I have checked with two guys I've known for many years and no DF's. Two other possible sources are:
http://heartbeatcitycamaro.com
http://wheelvintiques.com
Jim at heartbeat may have some that aren't listed on his web site. Wheelvintiques has the correct size but I don't think they're stamped DF and are repops.
You might want to attend the Auto Fair @ CMS next Spring 2015.

Thanks Craig- I knew you were the right man for the search. I've found a dozen wheels just this week, but I'm not willing to spend more than $150 for the service replacements dated 1969. If it's a 68 wheel, then yes, possibly more depending on the date. I try to put OEM stuff on when I can. And Yes, love AutoFair too it just has to fall during my time in The States, Moultrie has been good to me as well.
Just left Turkey bound for Suez to pick up another load- A totally different Turkey Rod Run- Ha Ha.

Be back home mid-Dec., will call then- Didn't mean to hi-jack your Turkey Rod Run thread
