General Show Information

Morning Drivers’ Meeting: NEW FOR 2014!! There will be an optional drivers’ meeting Sunday morning June 8 at the first stop at ZMAX Dragway @ Charlotte Motor Speedway – Concord, NC before you embark on the day’s tour. Begin the drive with a sendoff by the staff of HOT ROD Magazine and be a part of a large group of hot rods rolling down the road! The meeting is not mandatory, but we highly recommend you attend. This will be the ONLY scheduled driver’s meeting on the 2014 tour!

Gas Stops: There will not be “official” gas stops listed in the driving directions. We do drive many two-lane roads where towns can be anywhere from 10, 20 or 30 miles apart. If you are running low, don’t push it. Get gas in one of the little towns.

Mechanical Problems: Stuff happens when you least expect it or are “in the middle of nowhere.” Join up with another participant, or tour buddy, at your first cruise night, exchange cell phone numbers if possible, and keep an eye on each other while driving from one city to the next. You are responsible for your own repairs as well as securing a facility to make repairs. Past experience has shown that if you do break down, you will not be left alone as many participants are more than willing to lend a hand. This goes both ways. Don’t assume “someone else” will help a stranded fellow participant. Lend a hand if you see a fellow participant in need of assistance.

Cruise Night: Each cruise night will open at noon and will go until approximately 7 p.m. No participants will be allowed into the Cruise night area before noon. Each cruise night will feature various prizes and activities to enjoy.

Directions: Tour directions will be provided at www.hotrod.com, and at registration in your goodie bag.

Daily Coverage: Be sure to check www.hotrod.com and www.facebook.com/HotRodMag for Power Tour coverage, updates and any unexpected route changes.

Twitter Alerts: Follow Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour twitter announcements by texting hotrodmagazine to 40404. This will provide you with updates from Twitter of route changes, information, and promotional news from Hot Rod Magazine. To STOP following, text UNFOLLOW hotrodmagazine to 40404. NOTE: message and data rates may apply.

Long Hauler® Award Ceremony: The Long Hauler® Award Ceremony will take place Saturday June 14, beginning at 8 a.m. at Chula Vista Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI. When you arrive, park as directed and you will be instructed to report for staging the Long Hauler® photo. Remember to bring your completed credential / timecard with you to the ceremony.

*VEHICLES THAT DO NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL LONG HAULER CREDENTIAL WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE LONG HAULER CEREMONY ON SATURDAY JUNE 14*
