No - I had a pal @ BJ looking for the car & he never saw it. I knew the GM Heritage Collection had the car, I kept trying to buy it & they wouldn't sell it. Then it's @ BJ, sold & I thought I'd lost it forever. A week or so later I got a call from the buyer. He said something like........ I bought a car @ BJ that I know you will want in your collection so I bought it for you. Say what! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The 'lead camera' car had to join the other 2 'real' Pace Cars already in my garage.
My pal George has the 'split-field' car. I really appreciate it when friends look out for each other. I can never thank Ray enough. He is awesome & sold me the car for what he had in it. Thanks so much Ray - another car guy that has become a friend.
In 2006, before I ever owned this car I went to Daytona for Speed Weeks with George. Archives (ISC). We arranged for a private tour of the ISC Archives (closed to the public) & found many photos of the 4 'real' 2000 GTP Pace Car in the files. When George & I were leaving we saw a guy cleaning the Corvette Pace Cars & of course we had to say hi. He asked if we wanted the keys & we say 'well ya' & when I asked if we could take them for a spin he said no way BUT we could take photos. I thought George & I would have the big one right on the spot. Again, super nice people @ ISC. Jim

Jim's Daytona Pace Car Collection is a favorite of mine. Having the lead camera car plus two of the back up cars is fantastic!
