I remember reading an article in my September 2008 GM High-Tech Performance magazine about GM's Performance parts (GMPP)test vehicle and it said that GM procurred two former development cars, one being GMMG 427 SS. The article goes on stating that the Hugger Orange 2002 (I think that the year is a 1999) SS was originally a test vehicle, converted to GMMG ZL1 specs to develop a 4L60E-based transmission. The article goes on stating that the car came to GMPP carbon-fiber hgh flow air lid, chambered exhaust, and many unique aesthetic touches, such as the ZL1 stripes that adorn the fenders.
Fast forward to this year, 2012, and I believe I saw this car at Car Craft in St Paul MN this year. Does anybody know if it this car was built by GMMG for GMPP? Here are some pictures I took of the car in 2012, it sure has a lot of "GMMG" flair to it. The current engine residing is a one of GMPP crate 454 engines.
