Tires rubbing?

Post by daytonajim »

If you go from 17" to 18" wheels & larger tires they will probably rub because the wheels are too big.

Replacing the suspension & shocks WILL NOT fix the problem.

I had this issue on PE #37 & when I visited matt Murphy in 2009 he did the following. It helped BUT did not fix it 100%.

Matt dropped the rear springs - silicone / WD40 the springs & slid a block rubber automotive hose on the coil spring about 1/2 way. The thicker the hose the better. This raised things up just a little.

It really helped but was not 100%. When the car was loaded & a full tank of gas it would still hit once in awhile on big bumps. Slowing down really helped.
