Hi Jim,
Thank you. I’ve provided the information below, as well as attached pictures to this email. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you!
2002 Collector’s Edition Trans Am Blackbird
In February 2001 Carl Black, based out of his Pontiac GMC franchise in Atlanta Georgia, produced the first series of Ultra-high Performance WS6 Pontiac Trans Ams. His performance company, GMMC, took the road of earlier pioneers Baldwin Motion and Don Yenko, in modifying manufacturer’s muscle cars into Super Performance models. Black’s idea was to combine the feel and nostalgia of the sixties with the technology, handling and style of the modern Trans Am. The result was the Blackbird. Starting with the stock WS6 Ram Air 5.7 liter V8 and Hurst 6-speed transmission found on the Pontiac, additional performance modifications included short throw shifter, high flow air box, chambered exhaust, Eibach lower springs, dimpled front and rear brake rotors and Torq-Thrust II 17 inch wheels.
The 2002 Collector’s Edition Trans Am paid tribute to the last of the high performance Pontiac Firebirds. It would become the rarest Blackbird built with just 6 t-top and 4 convertible versions produced. (backwards – 4 T-Tops & 6 Converts) Only 1 CETA Blackbird convertible was built using the Phase 3 option. The Phase 3 option included front and rear Corvette brakes, line lock and the 427 Aluminum Block 600 hp engine. The Phase 3 option added nearly $30,000.00 to the standard $45,000.00 Blackbird convertible.
Presented is #8 of 10 CETA Trans Am Blackbirds produced. #8 represents the only Phase 3 optioned Firebird convertibles built. This is without doubt the rarest Trans Am Convertible on the planet being just one of one! The super car is as new with just 300 miles since the engine upgrade. The original LS6 engine and original parts are available. An unbelievable opportunity to own the last and most powerful of all Pontiac Trans Ams built. A collector car sure to escalate in value when compared to prices now realized for similar Baldwin Motion and Yenko era super cars.
- One of 10 CETA Trans Am Blackbirds
- 1 of 1 with Phase 3 Option (correct)
- 427/600 engine
- All Collector Edition Options
- “As New” condition
- Est. $50-75,000.00

Hi Jim,
I apologize for the late response, I’ve been traveling for work. Here are the answers to your questions and the images of the Pontiac.
The car is Lot 12 of the auction and the auction begins at noon, so I would say between 12-12:30pm on May 16th.
Comments from Jim............ there are errors in this listing......fyi..............
Here is the description, which should address most of the questions,
Expanding on the aerodynamic success of the third generation Firebird (1982-1992), the fourth generation amplified on that initial design. While the live axle and floor pan aft of the front seats remained virtually the same, 90% of the Firebird’s parts were all new. Major improvements included standard dual airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, 16” wheels, rack and pinion steering, short/long arm front suspension, and several composite body panels. The Trans Am received a close derivative of the Corvette 5.7 liter V8 LS1 producing 305 hp with the 320 hp Ram Air LS-6 package offered as an option. LS1 Firebirds were also equipped with aluminum drive shaft, dual piston front calipers with larger rotors and anti lock brakes. The WS6 package was exclusive to the Trans Am Coupe and Convertible.
Offered is an “as new” 1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 Pontiac Trans Am. This local second owner Trans Am was purchased with just 798 miles in 1998 and has been lovingly cared for, ever since. With Ram Air performance package, the Trans Am has function air induction, 17” polished wheels, tuned suspension and power steering cooler. Additional options added were traction control and rear axle. The WS6 comes with all books, records, dealer brochure and original window sticker. The 1990’s muscle cars are beginning to take off in the collector car market and this beautiful red with tan leather WS6 Ram Air Trans Am with just 12,300 miles is the car everybody wants.
- 12,300 original miles
- Locally owned
- WS6 Package
- T-Tops
- Full power equipment
